NYC Living Wage Campaign
We hope all of you will join us for the press event with Speaker Sheldon Silver tomorrow, Friday, at 1 pm, at City Hall. (Not at 11 as previously planned.)
- Over 880,000 member of New York’s workforce work for less than $8.50 per hour.
- Close to 80% of New York voters support raising the min. wage.
Offer your presence in demanding a fair, living wage. We had 125 people in Albany, including over 50 clergy. Can you help us beat that in NYC? Download the flyer.
Join Civil Rights, Faith, Labor and Community groups in a silent march against NYC’s “Stop and Frisk” Policy! On Father’s Day, let’s stand together to show that New Yorkers refuse to let our children be victimized by racial profiling. As people of faith, it’s our responsibility to help end the immoral policy of Stop & Frisk.
When: Father’s Day: Sunday, June 17th – march begins at 3 pm
Where: Clergy leaders and people of faith will assemble on 110th St. and Fifth Ave.
- Enter the assembly area from the west or from the north, NOT from the east!
- Closest subway stops: Cathedral Parkway (110 St) on the 2/3 or 6 trains
REMINDER: this will be a silent march for the entire route!
